Books bought

First off: I mentioned this last week, but the box of happy goodness (aka Animorphs books) came in the mail this week! This box contains Animorphs #1-42, plus the Megamorphs, Alternamorphs, and Andalite Chronicles books. I am still looking to round out the collection (the last 12 Animorphs books, plus 3 more standalones), but this is a pretty good start! :)

happy happy happy!

Colleen Gleason (aka Joss Ware) had a signing in Brighton this weekend, so I bought her two newest releases.
Bespelling Jane Austen Night Betrayed (Envy Chronicles, #4)

I also picked up the last two Jocelynn Drake books for Boyfriend, who is currently loving her first book, Nightwalker.

And last but not least, I ordered the movie adaptation of one of my favorite books of all time, Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden. Since the good ole' US of A hasn't quite gotten the ball rolling on this series, I had to order the DVD from Australia! (Multi-region DVD players rock, by the way!) It will be a while before it gets here, but I am anxiously counting down the days!

Colleen Gleason / Joss Ware signing!

Today was awesome! Colleen Gleason's alter ego, Joss Ware, came out to the Borders in Brighton for a book signing. I have been trying to make it to her signings since reading the first Gardella Chronicles book, The Rest Falls Away, back in 2009, but something always comes up and I'm not able to make it. It was so great to finally make it to a signing and meet one of my favorite authors!

We got to hear about her new series, The Regency Draculia, which will be released in March, April, and May of this year. This will be another historical vampire series, but the vampire mythology will be different than that of the Gardella Chronicles. It sounds pretty fascinating! For more information, click here. For a chance to win an ARC of The Vampire Voss, sign up for Gleason's newsletter here!

Luckily, Gleason is one cool lady and agreed to sign all of the books I'd brought! And that was, well, pretty much everything she's published.. :) If you haven't read these books yet, I highly recommend them! For my review of the first Envy Chronicles book, Beyond the Night, click here.

One note: If you haven't bought all of the Gardella Chronicles books yet, you will have some trouble finding As Shadows Fade on the shelves. That's because it's gone out of print, even though the rest of the series is still going strong. Madness! If you'd like to keep As Shadows Fade on the shelves, send an e-mail to (If that's not the right address and they direct you somewhere else, please leave a correction in the comments.) Thank you!

On My Wishlist (19)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City every Saturday in which we list books we desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. The books can be old, new or forthcoming.

All of these books will be released next week!

On her seventeenth birthday, Katie discovers a locket and decides to wear it for good luck. But when her boyfriend Isaac finds out she cheated on him— with their mutual best friend Mitch, no less—he dumps her, leaving her devastated.

And then a miracle happens. The locket burns on Katie's chest and she feels herself going back two weeks in time, to the night she cheated with Mitch. At first, Kate is delighted to be a better girlfriend to Isaac this time around. But as other aspects of her life become inexplicably altered, she realizes that changing the past may have had a dangerous effect on her present.

Can she make things right before the locket destroys everything—and everyone—she loves?

by Darynda Jones

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper.

Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to go into the light.” But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

This is a thrilling debut novel from an exciting newcomer to the world of paranormal romantic suspense.

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love - the deliria - blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

Jillian Conrad never believed in vampires-until she was unwillingly injected with a serum that was supposed to act as a deadly poison to them. Now, tormented half-vampire Declan Reese wants her blood to destroy the undead kingdom. Unfortunately, the serum has also made her blood irresistible to all vampires-including Declan, whose desire for Jillian is more than mere hunger.

by Cate Tiernan

A beautiful repackaging of books 7 - 9 in Tiernan's brilliant Sweep series.
