THE DEMON TRAPPER'S DAUGHTER
(Demon Trappers #1)
by Jana Oliver

Riley Blackthorne just needs a chance to prove herself – and that’s exactly what the demons are counting on…

Seventeen-year-old Riley, the only daughter of legendary Demon Trapper, Paul Blackthorne, has always dreamed of following in her father's footsteps.  The good news is, with human society seriously disrupted by economic upheaval and Lucifer increasing the number of demons in all major cities, Atlanta’s local Trappers’ Guild needs all the help they can get – even from a girl. When she’s not keeping up with her homework or trying to manage her growing crush on fellow apprentice, Simon, Riley’s out saving distressed citizens from foul-mouthed little devils – Grade One Hellspawn only, of course, per the strict rules of the Guild. Life’s about as normal as can be for the average demon-trapping teen.

But then a Grade Five Geo-Fiend crashes Riley’s routine assignment at a library, jeopardizing her life and her chosen livelihood.  And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, sudden tragedy strikes the Trappers’ Guild, spinning Riley down a more dangerous path than she ever could have imagined. As her whole world crashes down around her, who can Riley trust with her heart – and her life?

AWAKENED
(The Guardian Legacy #1)
by Ednah Walters

Courtesy of Star Book Tours

Most teens turn sixteen and get the license to drive, Lil Falcon gets the license to kill demons, but no one told her she is not supposed to fall in love with one.

Orphaned as a child and raised by an eccentric grandfather, Lil is concerned with surviving high school and is unaware she's a Guardian—a being with super powers charged with killing demons and protecting humanity. But when she meets Bran, a mysterious boy with amazing abilities, his psi energy unlocks her latent powers.

But Bran has a secret that can destroy their growing relationship. He's part demon. But in her heart, Lil knows Bran is not evil. So when her grandfather is kidnapped by a powerful nature-bender and Bran is the only one who knows where he's being kept, Lil convinces the other Guardians to trust him, not knowing her grandfather is just the bait. And the truth that she discovers in the demonic enclave may just destroy everything she believes in, unless she makes the right choice—love and sacrifice.

SISTERS RED
(Sisters Red #1)
by Jackson Pearce

Courtesy of We Love YA!

Scarlet March lives to hunt the Fenris--the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She's determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead.
Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts ferociously alongside her. But even as more girls' bodies pile up in the city and the Fenris seem to be gaining power, Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves. She finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax and Scarlett's only friend--but does loving him mean betraying her sister and all that they've worked for?

YOU KILLED WESLEY PAYNE
by Sean Beaudoin
Released: February 1, 2011

Courtesy of Star Book Tours

He's come to do a job.

A job that involves a dead body.

You Killed Wesley Payne is a truly original and darkly hilarious update of classic pulp noir, in which hard-boiled seventeen-year-old Dalton Rev transfers to the mean hallways of Salt River High to take on the toughest case of his life. The question isn't whether Dalton's going to get paid. He always gets paid. Or whether he's gonna get the girl. He always sometimes gets the girl. The real question is whether Dalton Rev can outwit crooked cops and power-hungry cliques in time to solve the mystery of "The Body" before it solves him.

ALL YOU GET IS ME
by Yvonne Prinz
Released: January 1, 2011

A summer of love, loss, justice, and chickens

What happens when a sixteen-year-old city girl is transplanted onto a ramshackle organic farm in the middle of nowhere? Everything. Here is a coming-of-age story with a setting so richly rendered you can smell the soil, a first love so beautifully drawn it feels like your own, and a politically charged legal battle so affecting it's a To Kill a Mockingbird for our times.

Yvonne Prinz and her novel The Vinyl Princess have ignited the teen blogosphere, Billboard magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, and the Los Angeles Times. Once again, she's taken the pulse of culture and emerged with a book that is timely, quirky, and unforgettable. Are you ready to dig in the dirt?

  1. Awesome IMM! I love the Harry Potter box set you got--when I worked at a bookstore a couple years ago, we sold the one that you bought. I wanted it, but it was too expensive. . . plus I was able to find used copies of a few special editions, and I really like special editions. . . .

    Happy reading!
