Halloween Read-a-Thon: Day 1 Updates

It's time for the Halloween Read-A-Thon!

If you haven't already, head on over to Young Adult Books Reviewed to sign up. I will be editing this post for all of my updates today.

My reading list for the read-a-thon:
The Reapers are Angels by Alden Bell
Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson
The Girl's Guide to Vampires by Barb Karg
The Girl's Guide to Werewolves by Barb Karg
Pegasus ARC by Robin McKinley
Witch in the House by Jenna McKnight
The Scent of Shadows by Vicki Pettersson
How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks
The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff

I will be alternating between How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks and Pegasus by Robin McKinley. I started the Sparks book last night, but only read 3 chapters before falling asleep. Pegasus is an ARC tour book that hopefully will be shipped out today - only 4 chapters left. My doggies need some snuggle time, as they really do not like the new electric fence we installed yesterday, so I'm going to hop in bed with them and start reading!

I finished both Pegasus and How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire, had lunch, mailed Pegasus off to the next blogger on the book tour, and did some housework. Now, off to start Witch in the House by Jenna McKnight!
Books finished: 2
Pages read: 415

I am smack in the middle of Witch in the House - very cute book! Reading is going a little slow today, as things keep cropping up that need attention. Now Boyfriend and I are heading off to return the generator to my parents (which were supposed to return in, um, March.. oops), then have dinner at our favorite bar. Yum. Back later, hopefully for some uninterrupted reading time!
Books finished: 2
Pages read: 591

Okay, I finally finished Witch in the House! Great book! Got lots of errands done today, including some we've been meaning to do for a while. Dinner with Boyfriend was quite good. Now, off to bed to rest up for read-a-thon day two.
Books finished: 3
Pages read: 788

How was your first day? Any favorite reads so far?

  1. Pegasus sounded really good, how is it?
I have How to Marry, but I haven't read it yet. Let me know if you like that one too. :)
Oh and don't forget to enter the minichallenges, you could win over 9 prizes just for being a readathon participant!
    Have fun!

  2. Pegasus was good, but at times it felt like there was too much world-building and not enough plot. I really enjoyed the Sparks book, though! Haven't read a cute, campy vamp romance in a while, so it was exactly what I needed.
